Mobile computing will continue to see phenomenal growth in the next couple of years. Wireless communication will become so cheap that they will build it into everything. Schools need to think seriously about laying sound foundations now for an infrastructure that will allow staff and pupils to get the full benefit from this flexible new technology.

It’s not easy to cover school premises wirelessly. Heavy wireless traffic requires traffic control just as much as the road network does.  And schools generate the heaviest computer traffic ANYWHERE.  If you don’t want gridlock (bafflingly invisible gridlock) you need sophisticated air traffic control. And since pupil data is going to be broadcast, you need professional security from electronic eavesdroppers.

Mostly, we install Ruckus managed wireless, although in some circumstances we will recommend systems from other manufacturers.  Ruckus is generally the system most recommended by British school network managers.  It uses multiple antennae to ‘beam-form’ signals to remote corners that other systems can’t reach.

We can design and install a managed wireless system suitable for your needs and your budget, using top-quality professional equipment.  As always, Datacable’s intelligent and multi-skilled engineers take a pride in working courteously, quickly, neatly and safely around your staff and pupils.  91% of our customers rated our service as Excellent.
